Childcare Director
The YWCA seeks an individual for a full-time position to oversee development, provision and supervision of childcare programming at multiple before and after school sites and full day summer child care programs. Some responsibilities include:
- Represent, advocate, and communicate the mission and philosophy of the YWCA to the community at all times
- Maintain and ensure a safe childcare environment at all times through adherence to Iowa Department of Human Services Child Day Care Licensing Standards
- Ensure a safe, professional environment with respectful, caring, activity-oriented, child-centered, age-appropriate childcare programming
- Provide overall direction, leadership, and oversight of Childcare programming, its staff, facilities, and equipment
- Plan and implement child-centered, appropriate programming and curriculum
- Supervise, train, and evaluate all childcare employees and with Human Resource maintain files; ensure all employees have completed the required training and place documentation
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in education, recreation, child development or a related field is preferred
- 3-5 years relevant experience including staff supervision, scheduling, program evaluation & licensing or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Excellent communication and management skills
- Must be flexible
- DEI experience a must
- Must pass criminal and child abuse background checks
Full-time with benefits including paid time off, health & dental insurance, retirement, etc.
$42,000 - $45,000 per year

Bus Drivers
YWCA seeks individuals for part-time position to transport participants in agency vehicles.
- Flexible work schedule with afternoon and early evening hours available
- Approximately 10-12 hours a week during the summer.

- Have/obtain chauffeur's license and current vehicle insurance
- 26+ years of age

Youth Dance Instructor
YWCA seeks energetic individuals for part-time positions providing instruction to youth ages 4-12 in beginner through intermediate ballet, jazz, hip hop and/or modern dance classes. The class focuses on familiarizing students with the fundamentals and encouraging motor skill development while having fun.

YWCA Y’s Kids Before and After School Childcare Program
YWCA is accepting applications from qualified and safety-oriented individuals to staff before and after school childcare programs serving school-aged children.
- Positions are part-time during the elementary school academic year
- Available positions are On-Site Supervisor ($15.50/hour) and Program Assistants ($15/hour)
- 6-30 hours per week are available, to fit your schedule
- Childcare program hours are: 6:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and 3:25 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday; 1:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Wednesdays; and 6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Fridays. Hours depend on the specific program site you are assigned

- Experience required for On-Site Supervisor positions
